How You Fit In
As a PHP Back-end Web Developer working at WHC, you’ll be participating in building, improving and expanding WHC’s systems to help small businesses make the most out of their online presence. We are hiring for a fully remote position, open to applicants worldwide.

You Will Make an Impact By

• Building new features and improvements for WHC's management platform (ERP)
• Building new features and improvements for WHC's client-facing web platform
• Troubleshooting and resolving incoming bugs within our production environment
• Improving our Managed WordPress hosting application, including WordPress plugin development

Who you are:

• You are a skilled web developer with more than 2 years with LAMP technologies like PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, Apache and HTML, and appreciate the fast development pace of Agile Methodology within a small, skilled team
• You have some experience working with Linux on the command line, Bash, as well as version control systems like Git
• You know WordPress or other content management systems well
• You understand how web hosting and domain names work
• You are autonomous, reliable, and intent on creating positive user experiences within the applications you develop.

Qualifications: 

• 2+ years experience with PHP web development
• 2+ years experience working with JavaScript and jQuery
• 2+ years experience working with MySQL and comfortable building complex SQL queries
• Experience with code versioning tools such as Git
• Knowledge of Bash scripting and command-line server management is an asset
• Having completed a minimum of 3-year University level degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree 
• Good working knowledge of English both written and oral communication
• Must pass a security background check
