Job Summary
As a key member of the Marketing team, reporting directly to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Content Writer will play a hands-on role in creating and optimizing engaging content in both French and English across our ecosystem. You’ll work closely with our awesome team to deliver high-quality content that speaks to Canadian SMBs and the daily challenges they face online.
This role requires you to juggle multiple projects and adapt quickly to changing contexts. From blog posts and web pages to email campaigns, social media content, interfaces, and landing pages, you’ll be responsible for crafting user-centric content that is SEO-optimized when pertinent.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating and managing content for blogs, social media, campaigns, landing pages
- Create copy for User Interfaces to optimize User Experience by collaborating closely with the product team.
- Owning content creation, from brainstorming ideas to final production, ensuring approved high-quality outputs within set deadlines.
- Applying the latest trends and best practices in copywriting and UX/UI to ensure content is not only engaging but also enhances user experience and conversions.
- Ensuring all content is polished, error-free, and is aligned with WHC’s brand voice.
- Implementing and reporting on SEO best practices to improve content visibility and organic traffic, ensuring content is optimized for search engines when relevant.
- Proofreading and translating content as required or coordinating translations with an external translator, ensuring that the tone, message, and intent remain consistent across both languages.
Who you are
- You have a deep understanding of the Canadian market, specifically the challenges that SMBs face, and can tailor content to meet their needs.
- You’re bilingual, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
- You thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once and meeting strict deadlines.
- You have experience leveraging AI tools in your content creation workflow, using AI to optimize efficiency, research, or ideate.
- You are up-to-date with the latest best practices in copywriting and UX/UI, ensuring your content is engaging, persuasive, and user-focused.
- Experience with websites, WordPress, cloud, or web hosting is a strong asset and allows you to jump right into technical content creation.
- You’re a kind human and work well with others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 4+ years of experience in bilingual content creation and SEO, with a proven track record of driving measurable results.
- Fluent in written and spoken French and English, with strong communication skills in both languages.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency and content creation is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in WordPress, Google Analytics, and social media a plus.
- Ability to translate very technical jargon into clear, concise human language.
