At Web Hosting Canada (WHC), we are passionate about helping Canadians succeed online by offering reliable website, domain, and email services tailored to their needs. Our mission extends beyond being a leader in online solutions—we strive to create a workplace that fosters growth, innovation, and connection. If you thrive in a dynamic, caring environment and are excited about shaping Canada's tech landscape, we'd love for you to join our team!

About the role

As Technical Product Manager, Infrastructure as a Service, you’ll be the strategic and technical force behind WHC’s core hosting platforms—VPS, Dedicated Servers, and Private Cloud. Your job: build and evolve the backbone of our platform so that Canadian businesses can rely on it to grow, scale, and succeed—securely and efficiently.

This is not just a maintenance role. This is a high-leverage opportunity to define the next era of infrastructure in a world shaped by AI, automation, and scale, where cloud-native thinking meets customer-first execution.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and collaborate with engineers, marketers, CX, and external partners. You’ll be solving hard problems—from infrastructure abstraction to pricing model optimization—and driving execution across the full product lifecycle.

This hybrid role is based out of our Montreal HQ in Little Italy, with flexibility for remote work. On-site presence may be required for key planning or team events.

What you'll do

  • Define the Vision: Own and evolve the roadmap for WHC’s core IaaS portfolio—including VPS, Dedicated Servers, and Private Cloud—balancing technical debt, market demand, and long-term platform bets.

  • AI-Ready Infrastructure: Explore how infrastructure must adapt to AI-era workloads. Identify automation, orchestration, and scalability features that align with smarter, more autonomous client needs.

  • Lead Delivery: Partner with Engineering and Design to ship high-impact infrastructure products and services. Translate ambiguous customer and technical needs into clear requirements, and lead trade-off discussions with confidence.

  • Pricing & Packaging Strategy: Design pricing structures that reflect both market dynamics and infrastructure economics. Think beyond static tiers—support usage-based, hybrid, and performance-tiered models where they make sense.

  • Partner & Vendor Management: Manage key vendor relationships (data centers, virtualization platforms, hardware providers) to ensure operational excellence, secure favorable terms, and drive joint innovation.

  • Lifecycle Management: Guide products from inception through launch and iteration, using pragmatic development cycles (Shape Up or Agile). Your roadmap will blend foundational improvements with customer-visible innovation.

  • Market & Customer Insight: Conduct competitive research, interview power users, and track product analytics to fuel better prioritization. Understand where the industry is headed—and how WHC stays a step ahead.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Align teams on what matters most. You’ll keep CX, Sales, Marketing, and Execs focused on what’s shipping, why it matters, and how we win.

  • Own the Backlog & Metrics: Write clear specs, epics, and user stories. Define and monitor success metrics across performance, adoption, and satisfaction. Triage bugs and guide root-cause analysis to improve system health.

Qualifications

  • You’re a systems thinker. You love untangling complexity, understanding how things work at scale, and making them better.

  • You’re tech fluent. You’ve built or supported infrastructure products—VPS, Dedicated, or Private/Hybrid Cloud—and understand their nuances, trade-offs, and value to SMBs.

  • You don’t chase shiny features. You prioritize foundational stability, reliability, and performance—but you also know when it’s time to ship something bold.

  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity. You ask hard questions, rally teams, and create clarity—even when answers aren’t obvious.

  • You have 7+ years in infrastructure-related roles and 3+ years in product management—ideally with experience working across both technical and business stakeholders.

  • You’ve worked with tools like cPanel, WordPress, CloudLinux, and are familiar with the infrastructure stacks that support them.

  • You’re bilingual (EN/FR) or comfortable operating in a multilingual Canadian environment.
